Lower back pain in youth

Lower back pain is commonly caused by participation in sports, including soccer, horseback riding, volleyball, basketball and more. It appears with the onset of growing muscles, bones and developing joints. X-rays are used if the condition is chronic, recurring or not resolving. X-rays also will provide information regarding congenital structural weaknesses or scoliosis. Young patients often respond quickly with manipulation, interferential physiotherapy and, if needed, a home exercise program.

* All cases at Progressive Natural Health are assessed and co-managed, if needed, with other doctors for necessary medications, pain management or referral for a secondary opinion.
