Common lower back pain complicated by degenerative arthritis

This condition is seen in all ages, though it can be more acute in patients who are in their 30s and 40s and more chronic as they age. It is aggravated by prolonged standing or slow walking on a hard surface (commonly known as the “shopping backache”). X-rays and/or MRI can confirm any complications of this pain. It is generally taken care of with manipulation, flexion distraction, physiotherapy such as ultrasound, and exercise. If lifestyle does not change, this condition is managed with preventative care.

* All cases at Progressive Natural Health are assessed and co-managed, if needed, with other doctors for necessary medications, pain management or referral for a secondary opinion.
