Acupuncture

The Center's Acupuncture Department addresses various disorders, diseases, allergies, addictions, and is used in the management of pain. Acupuncture is an integral part of a complete system of Natural Health and Healing.

Tracing it's existence in Asia for over 5,000 years, acupuncture has proven to be both safe and effective in oriental medicine. Though relatively new to western cultures, acupuncture has been shown, through numerous studies in western journals and publications, to be safe and clinically effective in the relief of headaches, muscle spasms, fibromyalgia, back pain, stress and other conditions.

The philosophy of acupuncture is based upon the Chinese belief that we have the inherent ability of our body, mind and spirit to adjust readily to changing environmental and social circumstances. This inherent ability may also be described as a balancing of energies, which is crucial to a good state of health. When one's energy is "out of balance", constrictions and blockages occur within the body, disrupting the flow of vital energy, therefore increasing one's vulnerability to disease.

Auriculotherapy is a form of ear acupuncture which utilizes microcurrent to stimulate specific points located in the ear as they relate to your current condition or disease. This form of therapy encompasses the concept that the auricle (ear) contains points of all parts of the body as they relate back to the early embryonic (fetal) nervous system.

The Center uses both needle therapy as well as micro-stimulation and acupressure for those who are squeamish or too young for needles.
